Between the years 1971 and 1981 he studied and taught music in London with harp music from renaissance as his specialty. During this period he also started studying the art of drawing. In 1981 he moved to Paris, where he continually improved his art at the same time he did work in Italy and Spain. Allan Madsen uses the same technique in his artistry as the old 17th century masters where he first covers the canvas with a base color and then starts building the structure and motif. It is the feeling and atmosphere that is important in his paintings and the motif is used to bring the viewer in to the picture. Disassociated, fragmented and reconstructed appear, in Madsen´s work, the allegorical figures of Botticelli and Giotto, the masterly anatomical studies by Michelangelo and the airs of mystery and the ineffable and blurred figures of Leonardo. Madsen has exhibit his art in many countries worldwide as in USA, Canada, Ireland, Spain and Sweden.
